Drawing influence from the unforgettable jet set era, the SS20 collection takes inspiration from Monte Carlo between the 70s and 80s, mixing classic silhouettes and patterns and combining them with taffeta mini dresses and rhinestone embellished trousers. From plisse chiffon dresses to subtly flared high waist trousers, the wardrobe staples of the 70s royals act as a starting point for the season. Breton stripes embody the spirit of Monaco and punctuate the opening looks on jackets and ruffled dresses, while signature sunglasses are inspired by the pilot styles of the decade. Denim is reinvented for SS20 with a specially developed tweed constructed from denim thread as well as a chiffon printed with denim toile. The two are combined with denim trims in jackets, dresses and corsets, as well as a frayed denim flower embellishes tweed denim jackets and taffeta dresses.
From the more rebellious nature of this season’s woman emerges a more glamorous persona inspired by archive imagery of Princess Caroline by Helmut Newton in dramatic occasion wear from the 80s. The gowns are styled with a selection of vintage jewellery from Eleuteri - the leading international antique and vintage jewellery house - to capture the powerful essence of the era. Unexpectedly, though, a printed taffeta dress with a train is finished with a denim shirt tied round the waist
